Palmer Trinity School (PTS) sophomore Robert Pfeiffer has earned the 2026 Student Visionary of the Year award from Blood Cancer United after raising $130,486 during a seven week national fundraising campaign.

The program challenges students to lead teams, advocate for patients and raise funds to support blood cancer research, patient services and advocacy. A check presentation ceremony took place at the school on May 12.

Pfeiffer said the campaign carried personal significance following the loss of his uncle to pancreatic cancer in 2019 and his mother’s diagnosis with breast cancer soon afterward.

Though his mother is now cancer free, the experience gave him a deeper understanding of how the disease affects both patients and their families.

“No family should have to go through the pain and hardship of cancer,” he said. “My goal was not only to raise funds, but also to raise awareness, inspire others and honor those who have fought this disease.”

For the campaign, Pfeiffer built and led a group of peers, including sophomores Grace Muttart and Marco Lema, known as “Team No More Loss,” to advocate publicly for a cause that holds personal meaning. Under his leadership, the team organized outreach efforts, partnered with local businesses, hosted events, and shared their mission with the wider community.

“Robbie’s recognition as the 2026 Student Visionary of the Year is a testament to his leadership, compassion and unwavering dedication,” said Patrick Roberts, head of school.

“Palmer Trinity celebrates his accomplishment as it serves as an inspiring example of how young people can drive meaningful change when they lead with purpose and heart.”

In addition to promoting academic excellence, Palmer Trinity empowers students to make a positive impact on the world around them. Pfeiffer plans to continue his involvement in advocacy and community service using his experience to support families affected by cancer and encourage others to act.
