Palmer Trinity School (PTS) has announced that Dr. Leo Llinas, chair of the PTS Science Department, has been chosen to serve on the Miami Dade College Earth Ethics Institute (EEI) National Advisory Board.

The mission of the EEI Board is to foster Earth Literacy in the course objectives of each discipline and all campus operations at Miami Dade College, as well as in the South Florida Community and the extended Earth community beyond.

“Leo Llinas is a very involved and well-respected colleague here in the Palmer Trinity School community,” stated Patrick Roberts, head of school. “His extensive experience in environmental studies and practices, as well as his long track record of being an environmental steward will add great value to the EEI Board.”

Dr. Llinas is a science teacher and director of Environmental Stewardship at PTS where he also is the advisor for the Environmental Action Club. He serves on the NOAA Planet Stewards Education Project Stewardship Community and the Climate Reality Leadership Corps. In 2021, Dr. Llinas was awarded the Mayor’s Environmentalist of the Year to honor his commitment to a healthy and sustainable environment.
