
Four players on this team would go on to play college football at Florida A&M University and were inducted into the school’s Sports Hall of Fame. They were Captain Emory Collier (2002), Willie Clarington (2003), Owen (Butch) McKay (1985), and Harvey Cooper (2024). Co-Captain Curtis Armstrong played college football at Tennessee State. Carl Woodard went on to play college football at Texas Southern and became an All American. Another player, Ransom Hill played college football at Albany State University and was inducted in the school’s Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011. He was a member of the 1960 Albany State Undefeated, Unscored Upon Football Team. Curtis Young and Ransom Hill, both had sons (Duane Young and Randal Thrill Hill) who would play professional football in the National Football League (NFL). Both stars starred at Mays, Fla., High. From there, Young went to Lane, Hill to Albany State. Another team member was Ernest Coney. He played college football for the Lane College, Jackson TN. Jimmie Miller, another team member, played college football at FAMU.

Under the able coaching of Rufus Tribble, the Rams won 9 games and lost 1. The team was runner-up in the Big 9 South Football Conference.
