The Village of Palmetto Bay is opening registration for two summer camps beginning in June.
The first is their regular summer camp that starts on June 9 and runs through July 25. Camp hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday.
“Our Summer Camp program is available to children between the ages of 5 and 13,” said Parks and Recreation director Fanny Carmona. “There are lots of fun activities planned, including weekly field trips.”
There will be no Summer Camp on Thursday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth Day, and on Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
The weekly cost for the camp is $195, which includes field trips and snacks. Planned programs include arts and crafts, outdoor sports activities, indoor games and movies, weekly field trips, water games, radKIDS self-empowerment class and more.
To add additional weeks parents will only have to complete the payment form. An important note is that a child’s spot is not confirmed until payment has been received and verified.

The village’s Tennis Camp runs from June 9 to Aug. 8, 9 a.m. to noon, Monday to Friday.
The camp is open for children between the ages of 5 and 14, beginner to intermediate levels. Campers are required to bring a water bottle and a tennis racket.
There will be no Tennis Camp on Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
This camp is not a full day camp and the maximum number of campers allowed per week is 40. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Daily Program Schedule: 9-9:15 a.m., drop off; 9:15-11:55 a.m., stretching, warm-ups, drills, skill instruction, games and activities; noon, dismissal and pick up.
The weekly cost for the tennis camp is $150 per participant and the daily rate, when available, is $35 per participant. Please note that a child’s spot is not confirmed until payment has been received and verified.
