Today, the Governor and Surgeon General made statements about the COVID-19 vaccine boosters that are contrary to the advice of the CDC.

Representative Daryl Campbell (D- Fort Lauderdale) issued the following statement:

“Amidst the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, it is irresponsible of the Governor to make a statement in contrary to the CDC guidance, it is imperative that those in positions of leadership, particularly in the Florida legislature, prioritize the safety and well-being of Floridians by adhering to the guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As we navigate the resurgence of the pandemic, it is crucial that we remain steadfast in our commitment to following the advice of healthcare professionals and experts, and take all necessary precautions to mitigate the spread of the virus. The COVID-19 vaccine has been rigorously tested and proven to be an effective tool in saving lives, and I strongly urge everyone to heed the guidance provided by public health officials in order to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our communities.”
