On Sunday, January 1, 2023, from Noon to 4:00 p.m. Representative Marie Woodson (D-Hollywood) will partner with the City of Hollywood to host a Haitian Independence Day Celebration at the Boulevard Heights Community Center, 6770 Garfield St, Hollywood, FL 33024.
This event is FREE to all and aims to provide education on Haitian history and culture. This event will include traditional food, music, historical presentations, Haitian art, and so more.
“I am privileged to live in South Florida, a melting pot where our diversity unites us. Celebrating my culture and honoring that of others is essential and continues to be one of my favorite ways to remain connected with my community,” said Representative Woodson.
This event will mark the second annual Haitian Independence Day Celebration hosted by Representative Woodson. As a Haitian-American woman, Representative Woodson is committed to honoring and celebrating Florida’s diverse cultural groups.
