For years, members of the Rotary Club of Coral Gables have been celebrating 5th Fridays with a social at an office of one of their members.
This fun social event took a different venue on Apr. 30. Coordinated by past president Sally Baumgartner, the gathering provided a first time opportunity for many Rotarians to meet in person, safely outdoors at Rotary Centennial Park on Ponce de Leon Boulevard just north of SW Eighth Street. The club created this park to celebrate Rotary International’s 100th Anniversary, so, it was a fitting place to have the affair.
Former Coral Gables mayor and past RCCG president Don Slesnick provided the wine that guests enjoyed with appetizers while reconnecting after many months with fellow Rotarians. Among those enjoying the night were club president Kelly Garces; treasurer Bill Quesenberry, and past presidents including Walter Alvarez, Bruce Kerestes, Yoli Woodbridge, Keith Phillips and Greg Martini.
