Trinity School (PTS) has announced that siblings Kyla Benesch (’27) and Brayden Benesch (’24) achieved exceptional standings at the Cressy National High School Championships organized by the South East Interscholastic Sailing Association (SEISA) District and hosted at the Southern Yacht Club in New Orleans on Oct. 28 and 29. The regatta featured 36 young competitors from various schools and provided two exciting days of racing.
Kyla won the gold medal in the ILCA 6 Girls Division, securing her position as the top-ranked high school sailor in this division nationwide. Brayden earned the silver medal in the ILCA 7 Division and holds the ranking of the second-best high school sailor in the ILCA 7 Division in the United States.
Since 1990, the Cressy National High School Championship has been designated by the Interscholastic Sailing Association (ISSA) as the ISSA National Singlehanded Championship.
“We are very proud of what Kyla and Bayden accomplished at this recent sailing event,” said Patrick Roberts, head of school. “The fact that they are siblings was also special and we look forward to watching how they both progress.”
