Along with the distribution of toys students received a visit from Santa Claus.

Miami-Dade School Board member Dr. Lawrence S. Feldman joined the FBI Citizen’s Academy in hosting the 2018 FBI Miami Citizens Academy Alumni Association Spirit of Giving Program at Colonial Drive Elementary on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018.

This holiday season, the FBI Citizen’s Alumni Academy Association (CAAA) adopted Colonial Drive Elementary as the site of its annual Spirit of Giving program. With the help of members as well as the Forensic Investigative Academy (FIA) students at Miami Palmetto Senior High School, new toys were collected and displayed for each student to select and take home.

FBI Miami CAAA President Rixys Alfonso and Director Roy Ripak collaborated to ensure the success of this year’s event, shopping for last minute toys and funding a hospitality component for teachers, staff and FBI volunteers to enjoy. The event was made all the more special with a special visit from Santa, whose magic filled the hearts of the children with hope and joy.

“It is a sight to see the amount of people working to make this act of kindness a reality. It reminds us that there is plenty of good in the world; for it is in giving that we receive,” Dr. Feldman said.
