SCHOOL BOARD VICE CHAIR MONICA COLUCCI HOSTED THE “EVENING WITH THE STARS” AWARDS CEREMONY OVER TWO UNFORGETTABLE EVENINGS, CELEBRATING DISTRICT 8 STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS

Monica Colucci, Vice Chair of The Miami-Dade County School Board for District 8, hosted a beautiful two-night “Evening with the Stars” awards ceremony on April 30 and May 1, 2024, at Miami Arts Studio 6-12 at Zelda Glazer. The event was attended by hundreds of families. Over two-hundred students were recognized for academic achievement, athletics, performing arts, and outstanding citizenship. Vice Chair Colucci commended each student for their relentless work ethic and dedication throughout the school year.

Vice Chair Colucci paid tribute to the Silver Knight Nominees in District 8, acknowledging the significance of the prestigious Silver Knight Awards program. This program recognizes exceptional students who excel academically and utilize their unique skills and talents to serve their schools and communities. Vice Chair Colucci proudly announced the thirty-nine District 8 students who earned nominations for this esteemed award.

“Tonight, is a night of celebration as we honor our outstanding students who have excelled in academics, athletics, performing arts, and outstanding citizenship, as well as those who have qualified as nominees for the Silver Knight Awards,” said Vice Chair Colucci. “This event is named an ‘Evening with the Stars’ because when we think of stars we think of light. These students here have been a source of light shining brightly for all to see. To those receiving awards tonight – keep up the excellent work, and never be afraid to shine because the world needs your light.  Each one of you truly is a star.”
