Sewer Pump Station A-16 Relocation in Downtown Fort Lauderdale

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with David Mancini & Sons, Inc. to construct a new underground sewer pump station on SE 11 Street west of US 1 / Federal Highway in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. The new pump station will replace the existing Sewer Pump Station A-16 that is 120 feet west of this location to accommodate the construction of the new federal courthouse. This project will enhance reliability and improve services for our neighbors. It includes:

  • Upgrading hydraulic equipment within the pump station
  • Replacing nearby undersized and aging water and sewer lines
  • Installing new connections to nearby water and sewer lines
  • Restoring the surrounding roadway

Construction will begin on Monday, August 7, 2023, and is expected to be completed in late 2023. Work will generally take place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., though there are a few 24-hour operations planned for the installation of new pipe that cannot be interrupted. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic Impacts
  • One lane in each direction of SE 3 Avenue between SE 7 Street and SE 11 Street may be closed during work hours.
  • One lane in each direction of SE 7 Street, SE 9 Street, and SE 11 Street east of SE 3 Avenue may be closed during work hours. Traffic control personnel will direct traffic as needed.
  • Access to driveways will be maintained.
  • Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience and thank our neighbors for their patience during construction.
