The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with David Mancini & Sons, Inc. to construct a new underground sewer pump station on SE 11 Street west of US 1 / Federal Highway in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. The new pump station will replace the existing Sewer Pump Station A-16 that is 120 feet west of this location to accommodate the construction of the new federal courthouse. This project will enhance reliability and improve services for our neighbors. It includes:
- Upgrading hydraulic equipment within the pump station
- Replacing nearby undersized and aging water and sewer lines
- Installing new connections to nearby water and sewer lines
- Restoring the surrounding roadway
Construction began in August 2023 and is expected to be completed in late 2023.
Crews will be working overnight on Monday, September 25 and Tuesday, September 26 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. to install a new 30-inch water main. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. During this time, neighbors can expect noise and lights near the work zone, which will be located at the intersection of SE 3 Avenue and SE 9 Street.
