A Parent is a Child’s first Teacher and the most influential Educator in a Child’s life. The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University found that the
more often kids eat dinner with their families (five to seven per week), the less likely they are to smoke, drink or use drugs. It is important to establish a routine with your children and dinner is the easiest way for engagement and communication.
MAKE SOMETHING DELICIOUS TOGETHER ON FAMILY DAY, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2023.
Hectic work schedule? Swimming in after-school activities? Do outside influences interfere with your family’s dinnertime?
Family DaysTM (celebrated this year September 25, 2023) is a national effort to promote family dinners as an effective way to reduce youth substance abuse and other risky behaviors. Informed Families invite you to spend time with the original social network (your family at the dinner table!) and join us in
standing up for siting down to dinner.
Share a photo of your family eating dinner together on social media! Tag @InformedFamilies and use #FLFamilyDay and #SitingDownwithIF, so you can be featured on our social media platforms! Three random winners will be selected to win a $100 Publix Gift Card PLUS the Florida school with the most entries will receive a $250 Publix Gift Card! How awesome is that? You can use these gift cards to buy more delicious food to make with your family!
