South Florida PBS (WPBT, WXEL & Health Channel) is excited to announce a new month of premieres starting with The Capitol Fourth 2021 on Sunday, July 4th at 8PM on WPBT & WXEL with an encore at 9:30 PM on WPBT. This program will spotlight America during the country’s 245th birthday featuring a star-studded musical extravaganza with performances from pop, country, R&B, classical and Broadway stars.
Also, in July, South Florida PBS will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage with Great Performances Gloria Estefan and Sangre Yoruba on July 9th, 2021, at 9PM on WPBT and Beyond the Canvas into Modern Mexico highlighting Mexico’s emergence as a global arts center. Additionally, we will be featuring a variety of short films that shine the light on the diversity of the Latino community on The Latino Experience on Tuesday July 6th, 13th and 20th at 9 PM on WPBT.
In July, our viewers will also enjoy all things British with the premiere of season 4 of our popular British drama, Unforgotten on Sunday, July 11th at 9PM on WPBT, and Wednesday, July 14th at 9PM on WXEL. Viewers will also enjoy taking a behind the scenes look at England’s most famous wedding, Charles and Di: The Truth Behind the Wedding tune in on Monday July 26th at 10PM and July 29th at 11PM WPBT.
Finally, for all our music lovers, tune in to WPBT for ICON: Music Through the Lens a 6- part series that airs on July 16th at 9PM featuring amazing performances from Roots of Latin Jazz, Classic Albums-Queen Night at the Opera, Fleetwood Mac-Rumors and American Masters-Buddy Guy.
South Florida PBS’ Health Channel wants you to stay healthy and informed all summer long with its unique series, Doctor Q & A. This one-of-a-kind show allows viewers to submit health and wellness questions to prestigious medical experts from around the country. The doctors cover a wide range of topics including mental health, back pain, cosmetic surgery, and much more. Tune in every day at 7:30 AM, 1:00 PM, and 7:00 PM on the Health Channel.
