The Village of Palmetto Bay has several special events planned to add to residents’ Halloween family fun.

The Halloween Trunk-or-Treat and Movie Night takes place on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 6 to 9:30 p.m., at Coral Reef Park, 7895 SW 152 St. Presented as a safe alternative to trick or treating on village streets, the Trunk-or-Treat part starts at 6 p.m. The night’s movie, Casper, starts at 7 p.m. Bring blankets and chairs for that. Food vendors will be available.

There’s also a car and golf cart decorating contest and a costume contest for the kids, with prizes, so register at www.palmettobay-fl.gov. Event sponsors are Christ Fellowship Palmetto Bay, MD Now Urgent Care, and Benefit Car Show.

Also scheduled is the Halloween Murder Mystery Dinner & Show on Friday, Oct. 26, 7-11 p.m., at Thalatta Estate, 17301 Old Cutler Rd. This one, for ages 21 and older, features dinner and a show, “An Old Hollywood Murder Mystery.” Residents are invited to come dressed in costume. Cost is $55 per person.

For information or tickets visit www.palmettobay-fl.gov or call 305-259-1234. Space is limited, so register early.
