The Biltmore Hotel, a national historic landmark and luxury hotel in the heart of Coral Gables and part of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, has announced the appointment of Freddy Hernandez as its new director of Marketing, Communications & E-Commerce.
With over a decade of direct marketing experience in the hospitality industry, Hernandez now is responsible for overseeing public relations/communications efforts and directing all marketing initiatives at the hotel.
“Freddy has invaluable expertise in luxury hospitality, not only locally but internationally as well,” said Matthias Kammerer, managing director of the Biltmore Hotel. “We are excited to have him join our team and look forward to having him share his insight and experience with us as we look towards a bright future.”
Hernandez’s experiences leading marketing initiatives for other luxury properties in South Florida include the Nobu Eden Roc Miami Beach and the Fairmont Turnberry Isle.
Internationally he worked with Fairmont Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, and in the Caribbean with Royal Isabela in Puerto Rico.
His prior focus included serving as the brand, marketing, and digital teams’ primary point of contact for a multi-brand portfolio of hotels. In those positions, he was responsible for developing annual strategic marketing plans, customized marketing objectives, and strategies to ensure teams were addressing property benchmarks while achieving the companies’ overarching goals.
“I’m thrilled to be joining an inspired team so dedicated to the history and iconography of the Biltmore,” Hernandez said. “Having grown up in Miami, I have always held the highest regard for the Biltmore, so it is a true honor to now be a part of its story and the next era in his storied history.”
