Trees & Treats Giveaway Drive-Through is Apr. 19The Village of Palmetto Bay is repeating a popular annual event this year, but with an added twist that dog owners will appreciate. The Trees & Treats: Tree Giveaway Drive-Through will take place on Saturday, Apr. 19, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Palmetto Bay residents can register to receive a free tree while supplies last, according to event organizers. Plus pick up your tree with your village pup and they’ll get a treat.

Those interested in getting free trees are urged to register by Monday, Apr. 14. To register go to https://form.123formbuilder.com/6807014/2025-palmetto-bay-trees-treats-giveaway-drive-thru.

Trees are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last to Palmetto Bay residents only. Proof of residency is required. Residents may get up to two distinct trees or plants per household, but there’s a limit of one fruit tree. Trees are in “three-gallon” size planters.

Staff advise that fruit trees are not permitted to be planted in the right of way/swale areas, which are close to the street as fruit dropping in the roadway could cause problems. Planting in the interior of the yard is permitted.

The registration form will close by the deadline or once trees are no longer available.

Once Palmetto Bay residency is verified, residents will receive a confirmation e-mail about one week before the event indicating the selected tree. Be ready to show this e-mail on your mobile device at the event. Residents will not be able to change their tree species once registration is submitted, or on the day of the event.

Available trees are Carambola, Coontie, Firebush, Jamaican Caper Tree, Mango Tree, Orange Geiger Tree and Queen Crepe Tree.

Ludovici Park is located at 17641 Old Cutler Rd. in Palmetto Bay.
