United HomeCare® (UHC), a leader and pioneer of home and community-based care and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving South Florida’s older adults, disabled adults, and family caregivers since 1973 helping seniors to age in place at-home with dignity, celebrated its milestone 30th Anniversary of the Claude Pepper Awards luncheon on May 16, 2025.

Over 350 community leaders, healthcare professionals and dignitaries gathered in honor of the 2025 Claude Pepper Award recipients, the event’s 30th Anniversary, and the 125th Anniversary of Senator Claude D. Pepper’s birth.

The sold-out event honoring champions of aging was led by United HomeCare, President and CEO, Carlos L. Martinez and José K. Fuentes, Immediate Past Chairman of the Board, joined by United HomeCare’s Board of Directors. Sandra Peebles officiated as the event’s Mistress of Ceremonies.

In memory of The Honorable Manolo Reyes, his wife and children joined us to celebrate his achievements and continue his legacy. Commissioner Manolo Reyes received the Claude Pepper Community Builder Award in 2022.

The President’s Volunteer Service Award from President Donald J. Trump was presented to individual AVUS Connect, AVUS Tech Pals, and United HomeCare volunteers who have contributed over 100 hours of volunteer community service.

The Honorable Daniella Levine Cava, Mayor, Miami-Dade County, presented a special Proclamation to honor the 30th Anniversary of the Claude Pepper Awards.

Special recognition was given to all sponsors and supporters for their continued support.

The Claude Pepper Awards luncheon is a signature event which pays tribute to the legacy of The Honorable Claude D. Pepper for his advocacy on behalf of the elderly and disabled, and honors exceptional individuals and organizations from the private and public sector who exemplify the spirit and ideals of the award’s namesake.
