The Village of Palmetto Bay on Nov. 12 announced the winners of its annual Student Photography Contest. This year’s theme was “Adventure.”
Robert Thompson from Southwood Middle School was the winner. Olivia Pacheco, also from Southwood Middle School, placed second, and Alyssa Morrison from Westminster Christian School finished third.
As before, the prizes were furnished by Pitman Photo Supply in Palmetto Bay. First place earned a $500 gift certificate; second place, $250 gift certificate, and third place, $100 gift certificate.
There were 79 entries this year according to staff members who organized the contest.
“Winners were determined by a team of judges selected from our Education Advisory Committee, Youth Committee Involvement Board, Art In Public Places Committee, Pitman Staff and Village Council,” said Robert Treadwell, village public information officer. “The winners will be recognized at the Light Up Your Holiday event on Dec. 7.”
