Village to host defense training class for women
The course gives participants the opportunity to use what they have learned in realistic training scenarios.

The Village of Palmetto Bay will host special RAD defense training classes for women on July 22, 23 and 24.

The classes will take place in Village Hall and the course is provided in partnership between the Village of Palmetto Bay and the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office-Village of Palmetto Bay Municipal District.

Classes run from 6 to 10 p.m. and are free. This course teaches awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and hands-on defense training for women.

The course culminates with a dynamic simulation that gives participants the opportunity to use what they have learned in realistic training scenarios against ‘aggressors’ wearing special safety equipment.
