A manager of Pubgrill, Nick Gillette, who participated in the cook-off with others from the restaurant team, was pleased with Wings Over the Bay.

“It’s a great event,” Gillette said. “There was a big turnout, and we had a lot of positive feedback from our customers. We’ve participated since about 2013. Besides wings we sell the sauces in our restaurant, including the SpicyQ, the one we won an award for.”
There was also a chicken wing eating competition, and Cutler Bay resident Ronald Von Paulus was the winner in that event.

“I go to as many of these events as I can,” Von Paulus said. “I just love the community atmosphere of Cutler Bay and the fact that they do special events every month when possible.

“I had friends in from out of town with their children and we hung around all day. It was great. It’s something fun in the park. I get to see a lot of the same people, I see my neighbors…it brings everybody together,” he added.
