State Representative Kevin Chambliss Present’s $320,200 Check to Florida City for Police Equipment Upgrades

Yesterday, State Representative Kevin Chambliss (D-Homestead), alongside Florida City elected leadership, and a representative from State Senator Ana Maria Rodriguez (R-Miami) office, presented a $320,200 state funding check to the City of Florida City to support critical police equipment and public safety upgrades. This latest grant marks the third consecutive year that Representative Chambliss and district leaders have successfully secured dedicated state funding for the Florida City Police Department, bringing the cumulative public safety investment in Florida City to more than $1 million over the past three years.
“The Florida City Police Department is not just any department; it serves as the gateway to the Keys, as well as the primary route back to the mainland. It is the first municipality that all of Monroe County passes through when evacuating during a natural disaster. Therefore, it is essential that this police department receives as many resources as possible.” said Representative Kevin Chambliss.
The $320,200 allocation will directly fund essential equipment upgrades, operational technology, and public safety resources for the police department to better serve the community.
