FIU hits the road for the first time this season Wednesday when the Panthers go upstate to take on Stetson for a single mid-week game in DeLand, Florida. From there FIU travels to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to participate in the Coastal Carolina Tournament. The Panthers play three or four games in two days in the Palmetto State, the possible opponents are Georgia Tech, Coastal Carolina, Albany and North Carolina State.
The scheduled Friday FIU doubleheader against Georgia Tech and Coastal Carolina has been postponed due to an expected high of 31 degrees on Friday in Myrtle Beach. FIU will now play a doubleheader Saturday against opponents to be determined and possibly a doubleheader Sunday (60% chance of rain on Sunday) also against opponents to be determined.
**I’ll post on here and also check FIUSports.com for the Saturday and Sunday doubleheader opponents and game times when they become known.
You can listen to all the games this week on the FIU Sports Radio Network. I’ll have the call from DeLand and Myrtle Beach. You can also follow on Twitter: @FIUBaseball or @PetePelegrin and be part of the broadcast by tweeting me @PetePelegrin. The only video broadcast available this week is for the Stetson game on the Hatters website but there is a charge to watch the game. There will be no video broadcasts for any of the four FIU games at the Coastal Carolina tournament.
