Rosenberg. “These rankings demonstrate our longstanding commitment to build models for success in graduating and retaining students as an urban minority-serving institution. That’s the foundation we are built from.”
FIU awarded more bachelor’s and master’s degrees to Hispanic students during academic year 2019-2020 than any other institution in the U.S., according to Hispanic Outlook. In addition, FIU was named the No. 3 four-year university for its 2019-2020 total enrollment of Hispanic students.
Over a dozen academic programs were ranked in the top 10 for serving Hispanic students, including:
- Business Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services Degrees – No. 1
- Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs Degrees – No. 1
- Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services Degrees – No. 1
- Architecture and Related Services Degrees – No. 1
- Engineering Degrees – No. 2
- Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, Firefighting, and Related Protective Services Degrees – No. 2
- English Language and Literature/Letters Degrees – No. 3
- Philosophy and Religious Studies Degrees – No. 3
- Education Degrees – No. 4
- Social Sciences Degrees – No. 7
- Natural Resources and Conservation Degrees – No. 9
- Parks, Recreation, Leisure, Fitness, and Kinesiology Degrees – No. 7
- Visual and Performing Arts Degrees – No. 9
