Sky Coffee Buenos Aires
1825 Biscayne Blvd.
Miami, FL 33132
(305) 850-1070
Sky Coffee Buenos Aires is a unique place. It opened in 2023 and is set inside a retired McDonnell Douglas MD-88 airplane that was used by Delta Airlines. They specialize in coffees inspired by Argentinian history and culture. One item on the menu is called “Casa Rosada,” for the house of government in Buenos Aires. For $9.50, it includes a red velvet cappuccino named after the Argentine Government House with edible roses and a fig macaroon. Another popular cappuccino is the Tierra del Fuego. The $19.50 drink was inspired by the 1833 gold rush in a town called Carolina that brought thousands of miners to that faraway point. It is on the expensive side because it is made with edible 24K gold and served with gold-wrapped chocolate truffles.

You will fall in love with this restaurant after one visit. The romantic ambiance makes for perfect photos. There is a phone booth, a movie wall, and a garden where customers can purchase a lock to seal their eternal commitment to each other.
As a complimentary starter, they serve customers popcorn to resemble that movie theater feeling. Each of the menu items has a love theme. For instance, there is a I Love You More Than Yesterday grilled salmon ($30), topped with a creamy capers sauce, capers fried, and potatoes puree kissed with infused peppers.

The moment you walk into this Wynwood palace of color you are welcomed with the beautiful décor of Indian culture. The hanging lights, the hostess greeting you and saying “namaste,” and the offer of a bindi when you sit down all exude the feeling of the Asian nation. The menu is authentic and not overly elaborate as in other Indian restaurants. The popular dishes include the “Butter Chicken” ($30) and the “Samosas” ($11.25). Every Thursday evening from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. they have henna tattoos available and cultural dancers performing Bollywood routines. At the end of the meal, the server brings a bronze bowl and a jug of rose water mixed with lemon and cardamom. They pour the water over your hands to cleanse them after eating, a common practice in Indian culture.

If you have never been to Italy, you can take a sneak peek in Miami. Chef Tommaso Penza and his team serve handcrafted Italian dishes rooted in traditions from Naples. They use decade-old recipes to highlight the true craftsmanship of authentic Italian foods. The rustic decor makes you feel like you time traveled and are living in the rich history. The restaurant has a Tuscan style to it with a replica of the Mona Lisa and various other photographs on the walls. A popular dish in this spot is the “White Pizza” ($19.99 to $24.99).
