Holy Cross Health is beaming with pride to announce that seven physicians who completed the University of Miami at Holy Cross Internal Medicine Residency Program have been matched with Internal Medicine (IM) subspecialty fellowships throughout Florida and in Colorado.
“We applaud this group of outstanding doctors who have been accepted into programs that will further educate them on their specific areas of interest,” said Nemer Dabage, M.D., FACP, Program Director of the University of Miami at Holy Cross Hospital Internal Medicine Residency. “They will gain valuable experience and touch the lives of many patients in positive ways. We are blessed to have had them as part of our program, and we are excited to see them grow in their chosen field.”
Two doctors matched nearby at University of Miami/Jackson Health System to pursue specialty fellowships — Aakash Padodara, M.D. for clinical nephrology and Nathalie Wacher, M.D. for clinical endocrinology.
Danielle Henry, M.D., Don Woody, M.D. and Luis Penaranda Bolano, M.D. will all be pursuing fellowships in rheumatology – Dr. Henry at University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver; Dr. Woody at HCA Healthcare/USF Morsani-Bayonet Point in Hudson, Florida; and Dr. Penaranda Bolano at Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education in Jacksonville, Florida.
Additionally, Alyssa Benjamin, D.O. is headed to Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine in Boca Raton, Florida for a subspecialty in geriatric medicine and Natasha Mederos Rocha, M.D. matched in clinical gastroenterology at University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville, Florida.
Accredited by the American Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency Program at Holy Cross Health prepares residents for careers in primary and ambulatory care in the ever-changing healthcare landscape and instills the importance of community service. While enrolled in the program, residents complete rotations in various departments and volunteer at the local nonprofit Light of the World, providing medical care to uninsured and underinsured patients. Holy Cross Health also offers medical residency programs in Emergency Medicine and Surgery, as well as Pharmacy, Nursing and Physical Therapy.
