Several changes were made on the last day of qualifying for the Apr. 13 municipal election in the City of Coral Gables that will show up on the ballot.
In the mayoral race, in addition to Patricia Ann Keon and Vince Lago, Jackson Rip Holmes now is running, having previously been in the Group 2 Commission race. His campaign website is at www.ripholmes.com/.

In the Group 3 Commission race, Javier Baños, Alex Bucelo and Kirk Menendez have been joined by Phillip “PJ” Mitchell, who is founding attorney and partner of Mitchell & West LLC, handling both civil and criminal matters.
Mitchell has served on a number of boards within the City of Coral Gables, which include the Economic Development Board and the Emergency Management Board. Mitchell is a Master Mason and past president of the Theta Mu Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He established a yearly charitable event, the Mitchell & West LLC Reindeer 5K Race, which occurs on the first Saturday in December of each year. And in a previous profile of Claudia Miro, who is running for the Group 2 Commission seat, she was listed as self-employed. In fact, she has been working in government positions for 20 years and currently is working for the Miami-Dade Public Library System in the Marketing Department.
