Earls Kitchen + Bar celebrated its grand opening in South Florida’s iconic Dadeland Mall on Thursday, Mar. 13, with an invitation-only party for close to 500 local luminaries, elected officials, community leaders and socialites.

The festivities began with a ribboncutting ceremony and proclamation presentation from the Miami-Dade County Mayor’s Office. On hand to commemorate the occasion was deputy director of the Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources, Josh Gelfman; vice president of operations of Earls Kitchen + Bar, Mark Hladik; founder and chair of Earls Kitchen + Bar, Leroy Earl “Bus” Fuller; Consul and Senior Trade Commissioner for Consulate General of Canada in Miami, Marc-Andre Hawkes; general manager, Justin Heyninck, and executive chef Luke Verkulyen.

Throughout the evening guests enjoyed the spirited atmosphere of the restaurant and lounge as they sampled Earls’ signature craft cocktails and authentic global cuisine. Special surprises included an ice sculpture display, cigar roller on the wrap-around patio, champagne bar, sushi stations and a craft cocktail bar manned by beverage director Cameron Bogue.

Guests were treated to a variety of bite-sized renditions of Earls’ signature dishes prepared by executive vhef Luke Verkulyen. Passed bites included mini- Bronx burgers with battered onion rings, red pepper relish, aged white cheddar, arugula, and a hand smashed patty; lobster rolls on grilled, buttery brioche; sticky barbecue pork buns with hoisin hot sauce, cilantro and topped with roasted peanuts, and a dynamite shrimp and mango roll with a zesty sriracha mayo drizzle. On the outside terrace, chefs hand rolled and presented crispy tuna sushi cones and smoked salmon pressed sushi to partygoers. For dessert, a traditional key lime pie was served with chantilly cream and an almond crumble.

In addition to a champagne bar set up on the outdoor terrace, party-goers were able to sample Earls’ amazing craft cocktails made with freshly squeezed juices and house made syrups in the lounge. A crowd favorite was the Bees Knees, served in a honey bear shaped glass with Aviation gin, Cointreau, honey, fresh lemon and angostura bitters.
