Night Owl Cookies founder invited to Forbes Under 30 Summit Boston

The editors at Forbes Magazine have invited Miami’s own Andrew Gonzalez, founder of Night Owl Cookies and last year’s winner of the Nation’s Top Young Chef award, to participate in this year’s Forbes Under 30 Summit Boston, presented by JPMorgan Chase & Co.

To compete for this title, Forbes hand selected the top chefs from around the world, who are currently on the list or have previously made the list, as was the case with Gonzalez.

This year’s summit, taking place in Boston, MA from Sept. 30, to Oct. 3, will attract about 7,000 young entrepreneurs who will take part in an immersive experience featuring panels, TED-style presentations and keynotes, live demos and conversations.

According to this year’s agenda, there will be 200 world-class speakers including Cardi B, musician; John Kerry, former U.S. Secretary of State and U.S. Senator; Steve Case, chair of the Case Foundation and cofounder of AOL; Anthony Scaramucci, founder of SkyBridge and former White House communications director, and John Urschel, former Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman turned MIT mathematician.

“In just seven years, we’ve seen the Forbes Under 30 list grow into an incredible community of bold leaders, entrepreneurs and inventors who shape, inspire and influence our world,” said Steven Bertoni, vice president and senior editor of the Under 30 Franchise. “The summit brings the list to life — connecting Under 30 members, mentors and future list members through powerful events and experiences. It’s a summit that spreads ideas, builds companies and forges friendships.”

While Night Owl Cookies will be in attendance for the entire summit, Gonzalez has been asked to participate in the Forbes Under 30 Food Festival on Oct. 2, which will be headlined by some of America’s most notable young chefs from 6 to 10 p.m. “We have been asked to serve our cookies at the food festival to about 750 VIPs,” Gonzalez said. “I don’t want to give too much away, but the plan is to be very Miami.”

Gonzalez also has partnered with The Real Havana Club Rum to make a special shot to pair with the cookie. In addition, Gonzalez will be participating in a Boston-wide Service Day that will close the summit, in which participants give back to the city.

“Last year, Forbes sent me to a couple of elementary schools to speak about being a first-generation American, and the impact it’s had in starting Night Owl Cookies. I look forward to seeing what they have in store for me this year,” Gonzalez said.

Considered to be the nation’s largest cookie shop, Night Owl Cookies bakes up to 5,000 cookies a day at its newest storefront located at 10534 SW Eighth St. Plans are underway to open three new locations, including one in Wynwood, Miami’s most eclectic neighborhood.
