St. Brendan’s HS dance team, choir perform at Marlins Park

St. Brendan High School’s Sabrette dance team and choir performed at the Marlins home game against the Atlanta Braves on Saturday, Sept. 6.

The St. Brendan choir started the evening by singing the national anthem. The 13- member choir performed led by choir director Ella Carr. “To be on the field in front of thousands of people, experiencing the culmination of all of the preparation and diligent rehearsals, was exhilarating,” Carr said.

The Sabrette dance team performed right before the first pitch was thrown. All members of the varsity and junior varsity performed, totaling 35 dancers in grades 9-12. The three-minute routine was put together by head coach Jill Torgas with varsity captain Alexa Lorenzo and co-captain Brianna Bazail.

Considering this was the Sabrettes first appearance of the school year, they were praised by all the coordinating staff of the Marlins, including Jose Guerrero, head coach of the Marlins’ Energy Team, for their performance, talent, overall professionalism and polished appearance.
This was the sixth consecutive year that the choir and dance teams have been asked to perform during a Marlins game.
