Brooke Revuelta, a 19-year-old professional pickleball athlete from Miami, was selected as the youngest pro athlete to date to join Armed Forces Entertainment’s (AFE) Goodwill Pro Pickleball Military Tour, in association with Pro Sports MVP Entertainment & Promotions.

Revuelta, who graduated high school in 2024, was a three-year starter on Miami Palmetto Senior High’s varsity tennis team, serving as team captain and leading the team to the 4A Florida High School State Championship title in 2023 as a key singles and doubles player. She was offered Division 1 tennis scholarships but made the decision to forgo those opportunities to pursue her new passion — professional pickleball.

During three weeks in March, Revuelta and three other American pro pickleball players participated in a morale boosting tour visiting 12 U.S. military bases in six countries — Turkey, Kosovo, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Spain — bringing the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. to service members, their families, and children stationed overseas.

Throughout the tour, Revuelta and her fellow pros spent time coaching, teaching, and hosting clinics for U.S. troops and their families, as well as residents of some of the overseas base communities, making sure everyone has a chance to participate. The tour also included pro exhibition matches showcasing elite-level play, tournaments where service members are competing, play-with-the-pros sessions for all skill levels, and special clinics with games and prizes to introduce them to the game.

This tour was about more than just pickleball — it’s about mutual learning, respect, and gratitude. As Revuelta and her fellow athletes taught the troops the fundamentals of pickleball, they also were being taught by the military’s finest. They were gaining first-hand insight into military life, training, and operations, including unit and facility visits as well as media interviews with Armed Forces Network (AFN).

“Being selected for this tour is an absolute honor — not just as a pro pickleball player, but as someone who comes from a military family,” Revuelta said. “My family has always instilled in me a deep respect for those who serve, and now I am showing my appreciation firsthand. This tour is about more than playing a sport — it’s about lifting spirits, saying thank you, and creating unforgettable moments for our troops and their families.

“Pickleball is all about connection, competition, and fun — just like the camaraderie within the military. I’m stepping onto the courts, learning from our soldiers, and sharing what I love about this sport with them,” she added.

Coming from a military family, Revuelta understands the commitment and resilience of service members and their loved ones. Her great-grandfather, Major Robert Vories Abram, was a B-24 airplane commander in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Her grandfather, James Newton Abram, served in the U.S. Army’s 7th Finance in Vietnam, and her stepfather, Jose Gonzalez, was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army’s 3rd Infantry Division out of Fort Stewart, GA, and 154th Engineer Battalion while stationed in Germany.

Pro Sports MVP Entertainment & Promotions president and CEO David Chavez, whose firm has produced over 400 overseas goodwill military tours, said, “The athletes and celebrities are the ones who get more out of the goodwill military tour by giving back to those men and women who preserve our freedom.”

The tour isn’t just about competition — it’s about boosting morale, fostering connections, and giving service members and their families a fun, healthy outlet. Whether it’s a soldier stepping on the court for the first time, a military spouse finding a new passion, or a child picking up a paddle, Revuelta had a lasting impact on every base she visited.

Revuelta’s rapid rise in professional pickleball has been nothing short of remarkable. A former junior tennis standout, she transitioned to pickleball in 2023 during her senior year in high school and quickly climbed the ranks. She currently is among the top junior women’s singles players in the world and the No. 2 Association of Pickleball Players (APP) Next Gen women’s player, in which Revuelta also is a member of the APP Next Gen National Team.

She has represented the U.S. internationally, competing in the past year in England (English Open) and India (World Pickleball League), and continues to make her mark as one of the sport’s most promising young athletes.

Through the goodwill military tour, Revuelta not only shared her love for pickleball but also fulfilled her mission to give back to those who serve, and to grow the sport globally. Follow Brooke on Instagram @brookerevuelta.pb.
