Starting at more than $32,000, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is a forward-leaning SUV with great personality.
I like the innovations including the digital key, which allows you to control features you would find on your fob like locking and unlocking doors and more.
The 19-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights and a panoramic sunroof, which gives the 2022 Tucson Hybrid a modern stylized feel that brings a smile to your face.
The 1.6-liter turbocharged GDI four-cylinder hybrid engine with 226 horsepower produces great speed and performance. It delivers 37 miles per gallon in the city, 36 on the highway, which these days makes a big difference in your wallet. I like that I fill up and don’t have to do it again for days.
The technology on the 2022 Tucson Hybrid is built around the idea of maximizing performance. A couple of interesting details include regenerative braking, with the brakes converting energy into electric power, recharging the battery. At lower speeds, the SUV uses more electric power and less gas.
The 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster is crisp and clear and makes navigating between navigation and the entertainment system a breeze. I can’t tell you how many digital interfaces are muddled and hard to figure out. This one is user-friendly whether you are the driver or the passenger. You also get standard Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
The 2022 Tucson Hybrid is equipped with standard HTRAC all-wheel drive and “e-Handling” technology, which combines the traction control system and hybrid electric motor to give you tighter cornering performance.
The hands-free, gesture-free smart liftgate is a next-level convenience you won’t get with competitors.
There also are great touches like the “remote smart parking assist,” which can help you with a tough parking situation without you being inside the Tucson Hybrid. Just press the Smart Key button while standing outside the vehicle, and you can remotely park it into a tight spot. Another push of the button and it easily drives out of the parking space.
The 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is a great drive and a great SUV. Give it a spin and let me know what you think.
