2022 Infiniti QX50 SUV is as fun as it is sleek

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I like the three-tone interior of the 2022 Infiniti QX50 SUV, which is rugged and solid to the touch. That’s the first thing that gave me confidence in this vehicle which starts around $40,000.

Although it is classified as a compact, it feels very roomy and spacious. I can spread out as I’m driving and my passengers feel comfy whether they are in the front or the back.

Another thing I like about the 2022 Infiniti QX50 SUV is that it looks sporty right down to the information panel in front of the steering wheel. You get clear dials and you get to choose from a seven or eight-inch infotainment screen that is clear and crisp.

This SUV has something called zero gravity seats that are designed to support your back and offer the effortless feeling of weightlessness. In the back passengers get captain’s chairs, which means more comfort and luxury. I love this detail in SUV because you feel like Infiniti thought of everything and, by everything, I mean an eye-popping panoramic moonroof that enhances the feeling of interior space — adding lots of light to any drive.

At night it gets even more interesting with customizable ambient lighting that lets you set the mood. The digital interface also comes standard with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, which is very convenient.

In the trunk you get 65.1 cubic feet of cargo space, which is plenty of room for everything from suitcases to your kid’s lacrosse gear or even quidditch equipment, if your kids are Harry Potter fans.

As for the engine, the 2022 Infiniti QX50 SUV has a four-cylinder 2.0-liter VC-turbo engine that can produce sporty responsiveness or eco-friendly efficiency. The 268 horsepower engine delivers 23 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the highway for a combined 26 mpg.

There is lots of great technology that makes the 2022 Infiniti QX50 SUV a dream to drive, including intelligent all-wheel drive, which maximizes efficiency and adapts to all conditions. Infiniti vehicles also have dynamic digital suspension, which monitors body roll and pitch to deliver a secure, agile ride with optimal comfort.

I like the direct adaptive steering feature, which makes a thousand adjustments a second to deliver razor-sharp handling. This technology filters unwanted vibrations, so your drive is as smooth as it is exhilarating.

The driver also gets to choose from six distinct drive modes and can customize the experience to their liking. Adjust the engine, suspension, transmission, and steering settings to match your mood.

At the end of my drive, I wanted to stay in the 2022 Infiniti QX50 SUV, which is a great car to drive and own.
