2024 Hyundai Elantra HEV Limited is a great family car

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Starting at $27,625, the 2024 Elantra Hybrid Electric Vehicle Limited has a sleek, modern design that is great on the eyes.

Sharp lines combine with a compact front fascia and bold new details to bring you one great sedan. The basic Elantra Hybrid has a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 139 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque.

In terms of performance, the basic HEV gets 49 miles per gallon in the city and 52 miles per gallon on the highway, delivering 50 miles per gallon combined. It has a total driving range of about 539 miles in the city and 572 miles on the highway. The Elantra rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that mirror its modern look and feel.

On the inside of the Elantra Limited, Hyundai paired a hi-res 10.25-inch touchscreen navigation with a 10.25-inch, fully digital instrument cluster to create a pretty powerful display. They are housed side-by-side, creating a nearly seamless panel that clearly shows your information and entertainment features, while keeping your focus on the road.
Like in all modern cars, the Elantra Limited includes ambient lighting, which makes the interior pop. The H-Tex leatherette trimmed seats feel great. The driver’s seat also features power lumbar for your back.

With the 2024 Elantra, you can add your car key to Apple Wallet. Then hold your iPhone or Apple Watch near the door handle to unlock it. You also can text a digital key to compatible phones and share with friends or family. This tech works with the latest phone technology, so make sure yours is up to date.

I like the Elantra safety technology including the automatic high beam assist, which toggles between high and low beams when approaching another vehicle. The 2024 Elantra also takes forward collision avoidance assistance to another level by providing an alert when approaching a pedestrian, cyclists, etc., and the car computer will begin braking for you if you don’t begin stopping in time.

The 2024 Elantra Limited has added new tech to help prevent blind-spot accidents. When you signal to change lanes, a live camera feed of the lane will appear on the digital instrument gauge display. That’s pretty amazing because I still get cars sneaking up on me when driving. This is a helpful new tool to make driving safer.

There also is a feature that monitors your driving patterns to detect drowsy or inattentive driving. If it detects the driver is losing his or her focus, there is a sound cue and a warning on the instrument cluster. Both are good to make sure accidents are avoided.

These safety features are so innovative that US News & World Report named the 2024 Elantra as the “Best New Car for Teens,” so sending your child to college won’t be a stress nest for you and your family.

I really enjoyed driving the 2024 Elantra HEV Limited because of its functionality and design. Great features, great drive. Give it a spin and tell me what you think.
