Entrepreneur, philanthropist and Major League Baseball All Star Alex Rodriguez (A-Rod) and A-Rod Corp. once again made the holidays brighter for Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade youth members.
On Thursday, Dec. 21, A-Rod hosted a holiday party at his alma matter Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade and presented age-appropriate gifts, provided by A-Rod Corp., to members aged 5 to 17.
During the event, at Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s Hank Kline Club, area youth enjoyed holiday activities including a petting zoo provided by Tinez Farms, face painting, bounce houses, karaoke, visits with Santa, photo opportunities, food and more. Santa even made a grand entrance arriving in a helicopter on the club’s baseball field.
Before A-Rod became a baseball star, he learned to play the game at Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s Hank Kline Club. He thrived at the club, staying a member until the day he was drafted by the Seattle Mariners. He now is a television baseball analyst for Fox Sports and ESPN, and a longtime board member for Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade and also for Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
The event was sponsored by A-Rod Corp. and its family of companies, including Josh Premium Meats, Cebada Rooftop, Tinez Farms, Ocean Mazda, Belmont Bank & Trust, Newport Properties, Dr. Claudio Miro and Nelson Lopez.
