A special moment occurred for Spanish-born poet Raul Tamame, 52, (pictured with Maggie Miranda, director of activities at The Palace Renaissance in Kendall) on Nov. 20. Publication of the third volume of his poetry, which he continues to write despite having cerebral palsy that renders him voiceless, was marked with readings of his works to community residents, along with a DVD video by the Archdiocese of Miami that traces Tamame’s life history. A resident of the U.S. since 1979, Tamame has been writing poetry since his early 20s and his newest work was listed among the 25 “Best Books of November” by iBooks.
