Education nonprofit Achieve Miami has announced a renewed partnership with Morgan Stanley’s Institute for Inclusion to facilitate the organization’s Financial Literacy Program, providing hundreds of high school students across Miami-Dade County with the essential knowledge and practical tools to navigate personal finance as they prepare for adulthood.
Now in its second year, the program consists of three interactive monthly sessions held across 10 Miami-Dade County Public Schools, engaging nearly 300 students in critical financial education. The sessions, which will be led by Morgan Stanley employees, will run from February through April and cover fundamental topics such as the psychology of money, taxes, entrepreneurship, and investing, empowering students with the skills necessary for long-term financial success.
“Financial literacy is a crucial life skill, and through our continued partnership with Morgan Stanley’s Institute for Inclusion, we are equipping students with the knowledge they need to enter adulthood and make informed financial decisions,” said Leslie Miller Saiontz, founder of Achieve Miami. “In the second year of this collaboration, we are expanding our commitment to fostering economic empowerment in our community.”
Participating students are part of Achieve Miami’s ‘Achieve Scholars’ program, a selective initiative that provides college and career readiness support to hard-working sophomores, juniors, and seniors from underserved high schools. Through the support of Morgan Stanley, these students gain direct access to financial experts, real-world applications of financial principles, and mentorship opportunities that enhance their educational journey.
Achieve Miami is an education nonprofit that offers a variety of learning and connection opportunities to set all students on a path to success. The organization provides diverse enrichment programs, such as Achieve Scholars, Achieve Saturdays, and Achieve Music, offering academic and extracurricular support to students from diverse backgrounds.
Amid persistent opportunity gaps in Miami’s educational system, these initiatives tackle Florida’s challenges as one of the nation’s fastest-growing states with the fourth-largest economy – despite ranking 21st in per capita education funding.
