The City of Sweetwater hosted an active shooter multi-agency, hands-on tactical training event on May 1, from 4 to 7:45 a.m., in Dolphin Mall.
The active shooter scenario started with uniform patrol units responding to an active shooter at Dolphin Mall. The subject was taken into custody while at least three more armed subjects were loose in the mall. There also were several victims remaining inside the mall.
The tactical training slowed down to perform a methodical search using K-9 units and SWAT personnel, while uniformed units rescued victims. Victims were carried outside to awaiting ambulances.
