Alper JCC Miami’s Glen Greenstein Early Childhood Development Center (ECD) has once again solidified its reputation for excellence, achieving a prestigious 99 percent APPLE (Accredited Professional Preschool Learning Environment) re-accreditation rating. This distinction places the center among the top 1% of childcare facilities in South Florida that have attained the highest level of APPLE accreditation.
APPLE accreditation, administered by the Florida Association of Childcare Management (FACCM), is a rigorous and nationally recognized standard for early childhood education programs. The process evaluates key areas including curriculum quality, teacher-child interactions, staff credentials, adult-child ratios, family engagement, program administration and community involvement. The Glen Greenstein ECD exceeded these high standards, reinforcing its commitment to providing a nurturing, high-quality learning environment for infants through preschool-aged children.
“Our goal is to create an environment where children thrive, families feel connected and learning is an exciting journey of discovery,” said Veronica Yanco, Early Childhood Center Director. “This incredible 99% rating is a testament to the dedication of our educators, the strength of our curriculum and the unwavering support of our engaged families. We are honored to be recognized at such a high level and will continue fostering an enriching, inclusive and inspiring early learning experience.”
The Glen Greenstein ECD sets itself apart with a dynamic and well-rounded curriculum that nurtures cognitive, social and physical development with activities such as music, physical education, and swimming among others A strong Judaic foundation is woven into daily learning, helping children develop a sense of connection with their family, the Jewish community and the world. Weekly Shabbat celebrations bring families together for a moment of reflection and joy.
With low teacher-child ratios, the program ensures individualized attention and maintains the highest educational standards. The active Parent and Grandparent Kehillah (community) strengthens the connection between home and school through engagement in events, fundraisers and classroom experiences. Certified early childhood educators receive continuous professional development and guidance from a Curriculum Specialist, and both indoor and outdoor learning spaces are intentionally designed to spark creativity, curiosity and intellectual engagement.
The Alper JCC Miami’s Early Childhood Development Center is currently accepting registrations for the 2025-2026 school year. Families interested in securing a spot in this highly sought-after program are encouraged to apply early as there are a limited number of spaces available.
