On Thursday, October 13, Baptist Health Foundation and Tamarina hosted a private cocktail reception kicking off ‘The Grand Gala,’ the highly anticipated black-tie fundraiser to be held the evening of November 12.
The kickoff celebration was presented by Flightserve, the official helicopter transport of Baptist Health South Florida, and Audemars Piguet, the official timekeeper for Baptist Hospital. Over 150 guests were welcomed to the exclusive, invitation-only event. Notable attendees included The Grand Gala’s three co-chairs Karel Foti, Lourdes Jofré-Collett and Leonard Kalman, M.D., as well as Bill Banchs, CEO of Baptist Health Foundation, Michael Zinner, M.D., Founding Chief Executive Officer and Executive Medical Director of Miami Cancer Institute, Dan and Trish Bell, Luda Broich and more.
The Grand Gala will be the most significant fundraising event in the history of Baptist Health South Florida. All proceeds will go to Miami Cancer Institute, the new destination cancer center that will be recognized for its leading clinical care, exceptional patient experience, advanced clinical research and state-of-the-art technology – including the first proton therapy center in South Florida, offering ease of access to patients in the region and across Latin America and the Caribbean. The Institute opens in January 2017.
