Belen Jesuit Preparatory School Lucrecia in Concert- Back by Popular Demand

MIAMI- Renowned Cuban singer Lucrecia will once again grace the Belen Jesuit stage on Saturday, April 28 at 7 p.m. accompanied by the Belen Jazz Band conducted by Marlene Urbay and members of the Celia Cruz All-Star Band.

The concert will honor the legendary Celia Cruz, who is considered one of the most renowned Cuban musicians of all time and will be preceded by the 2008 documentary, “Celia: The Queen.”

“We are very excited to once again welcome Lucrecia to our campus,” said Jesuit Father Pedro Suarez, President of the school. “She graced our stage at the onset of our Cultural Series in October of 2011 and captured the heart of everyone in attendance. I invite the community to come and experience her in concert first hand.”

Tickets are on sale now, www.belenjesuit.org/jubilee. Prices are $25, $35 and $55 with a VIP Artists Reception to follow in the Saladrigas Gallery. Net proceeds from each event in the Cultural Series will benefit the Belen Scholarship Program.

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School <http://www.belenjesuit.org/>  was founded by the Jesuits in 1854 in Havana, Cuba.  In 1961, Belen and all private schools were confiscated by the new political regime. The School was re-established in Miami that same year and has grown over the last five decades.  Currently the enrollment is nearly 1,500 male students in grades 6 to 12 and over 6-thousand alumni.
