The Cuban American Bar Association (CABA) recently conducted an event at Marlins Park benefiting the CABA Pro Bono Project.
Members of the Miami-Dade Legislative Delegation including State Sen. Anitere Flores and State Rep. Jose Felix Diaz presented CABA Pro Bono Project with a check for $150,000. Approximately 40 child clients were able to attend the event and experience their first Major League Baseball game.
“I am extremely grateful to the Miami Dade Delegation for their continuous support,” said Lesley Mendoza, executive director at CABA Pro Bono Project. “Funding provided by the State of Florida allows us to continue to passionately serve our community by providing free legal services to those that are most in need.”
The Cuban American Bar Association Pro Bono Project was established in 1984 by several of CABA’s past presidents to assist the needs of poor and indigent Spanish-speaking individuals in Miami-Dade County by connecting them with Spanish-speaking attorney volunteers.
