Celebrate 50th anniversary of The Rocky Horror Picture Show at Pinecrest Gardens, Oct. 3
Come in costume; there will be a contest.

Half a century ago, audiences met Dr. Frank-N-Furter and the rest of the strange and sensational cast of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. On Friday, Oct. 3, a little over 50 years since the film’s original release, Pinecrest Gardens will honor the milestone with a dazzling evening under the stars.

The celebration will feature a live cast with many fan favorite characters, VIP cocktail lounge, a costume contest with cash prizes, and an interactive screening of the newly restored 4K version of the film in the Banyan Bowl.

The 1975 gender-bending musical comedy-horror began as a box office flop but soon found a second life at midnight showings, becoming the longest-running theatrical release in movie history and a global celebration of self-expression. Fans turned screenings into full-scale productions with costumes, props, and shouted call-backs, traditions that Pinecrest Gardens will keep alive for this anniversary event.

“To many Rocky Horror fans, this movie is a rite of passage,” said Cristina Blanco, executive director of Pinecrest Gardens. “We are thrilled to be part of the official 50th anniversary celebration, giving fans a chance to relive the magic and newcomers the opportunity to experience it for the first time, the way it was meant to be, with an audience that is ready to sing, dance, and have a blast with a live cast.”

Schedule of activities:
7 p.m. – Gates open
7 to 8 p.m. – VIP Cocktail Experience & Lounge: Meet and greet with the cast in costume, enjoy a signature drink, popcorn and preferred seating in the Banyan Bowl (VIP ticket does not include contest entry.)

8:45 p.m. – Special Guest Introduction and The Rocky Horror Picture Show 50th anniversary screening. The film is Rated R. Viewers under 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
