Celebrate Earth Day in West Kendall — “Be Local & Live Green” — on Sunday, Apr. 21, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum, 12450 SW 152 St., adjacent to Zoo Miami. Earth Day serves to educate and inspire the local community to grow more conscious of daily habits for a better common future.
This free family-friendly event will feature live entertainment; free bike valet service; children’s bounce house and activities; food, products and services, and local organizations that educate on how to reduce, reuse and recycle. Tour the museum and enjoy train rides.
Activities include:
• Free Entertainment
• Opening ceremony and award to Ron Magil as 2013 Environmental Hero;
• Live music by Week’s End, a local alternative punk-rock high school band, and Danilo Parra, Spanish singer-song writer with a unique Latin-pop style, and
• Live performances by Alouettes Dance Academy and Belly 2 Abs Performance Group.
• Free Children’s Zone that includes activities such as a Bounce House, Mini- Golf & Sandbox; Arts N’Craft: Build A Homemade Bird Feeder, coloring and painting; Game: Sorting Out Recyclables with Fairies; Storytime; model trains and Thomas The Tank Engine Play Area; take photos with Tinkerbell, Pocahontas, Peter Pan and more.
