Samantha’s Purpose is proud to announce the return of its signature event, the Run, Walk & Stroll 2K for Cerebral Palsy Awareness, taking place on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Coral Reef Park in the Village of Palmetto Bay. As the only Cerebral Palsy Awareness event in South Florida, this inspiring community gathering serves as a vital fundraiser to support individuals with Cerebral Palsy and other disabilities.

Samantha’s Purpose was founded by Michelle Coffey-Garcia and Jose “Manny” Garcia, inspired by their daughter, Samantha, who lives with Cerebral Palsy. From the moment of her diagnosis, they made a heartfelt promise: her disability would have a purpose. Driven by this commitment, Samantha’s Purpose works to educate others, provide financial assistance for services and equipment, and raise awareness about Cerebral Palsy. Through scholarships, therapy funding, and support for inclusive programs, the organization ensures individuals with disabilities have access to the resources they need to lead fulfilling lives.

“This event is more than just a walk—it’s about standing together to uplift the special needs community and showing the world that inclusion matters,” said Michelle Coffey-Garcia, Co-Founder of Samantha’s Purpose. “It’s a celebration of ability, advocacy, and community support.”

Participants of all abilities are encouraged to join—whether by running, walking, or strolling alongside friends and family. Registration is now open at www.samanthaspurpose.org.

Adding to the vibrant community atmosphere, the Palmetto Bay Artisan & Farmer’s Market will also be taking place at Coral Reef Park during the event. Attendees can enjoy local vendors, fresh produce, and unique handcrafted goods while supporting a meaningful cause.

Palmetto Bay Mayor Karyn Cunningham, a dedicated supporter of Samantha’s Purpose since its inception in 2015, will be in attendance. Mayor Cunningham, whose nephew lives with Cerebral Palsy, understands firsthand the importance of events like this. Her continued support underscores the value of fostering an inclusive community that uplifts individuals with disabilities.

In addition to the 2K event, there will be a free Resource Fair, where families can connect with organizations that provide essential services for individuals with disabilities. Businesses that serve the special needs community are invited to participate in this space at no cost.
