Christopher Columbus High School Senior Martin Seals participated in the Florida American Legions’ Boys State, Florida’s premiere youth leadership program which takes place annually at Florida State University with 500 of our state’s most successful boys. During the 7-day immersive experience, the participants created a mock state replica of Florida from the ground up, forming city, county and state legislatures. Martin had the honor of being elected governor, the highest elected office at Boys State.
Martin is a very active student at Columbus. He is a Varsity Debater, President of the Junior Castaways Against Cancer, and serves on the board of the HIP Program which empowers teens to lead healthy lifestyles . He is also a member of the Patriot Club, Student Activities Committee, Model UN and serves as a student ambassador for school and alumni events. Martin can be seen addressing the student legislators in Florida’s State Capitol building in the picture.
