Miami-Dade County Commissioner Joe A. Martinez is helping residents with a food distribution this Saturday, November 4, 2017. The Commissioner is partnering with Farm Share in order to provide nutritious goods to residents in need. The event is open to the public at Tamiami Lakes Park, 13220 SW 18thStreet, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“I believe that it is our responsibility to stand together and continue to help those who find it difficult to provide food for their families so close to the holidays,” said Commissioner Martinez.

In addition to food distribution, Miami-Dade’s Water and Sewer Department will be exchanging residents’ light bulbs and showerheads for higher efficiency models. Residents can bring up to two showerheads and two of their most heavily used regular light bulbs to the event and exchange them for the efficient models for free while supplies last.

Other event partners include: Miami-Dade Police Department, Miami-Dade Fire Department, Miami-Dade Transportation and Public Works, Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces, Miami-Dade Regulatory and Economic Resources, Miami-Dade Public Library System, Miami-Dade County Elections Department, West Kendall Baptist Hospital, Music by DJ Alex Roy, Piag MuseumThe Miami Football Club and many more.
