Jeanette M. Nuñez is a Republican member of the Florida House of Representatives, seeking re-election in District 119. She was first elected to the chamber in 2010 and wishes to continue providing tax relief, creating jobs and improving the economy, supporting legislation to enhance Florida’s education system K-college, and protecting children and seniors.
Nuñez earned her B.A. in International Relations and Political Science and an MBA from FIU. Her professional experience includes working as VP of External Affairs at the Kendall Regional Medical Center and Aventura Medical Center, VP of Government Affairs for the Jackson Health System, chief of staff to state Senator Alex Diaz de la Portilla, and adjunct professor at FIU’s College of Public Health.
She currently serves on the board of Kristi House, an organization dedicated to child victims of sexual abuse. In 2007, Nuñez was named a “Hispanic Woman of Distinction of South Florida” for her volunteerism and dedication to the community. In 2008, she was asked to serve on the Florida Hospital Association Uninsured Taskforce and participated in the National Association of Public Hospitals Fellowship Program, where she was recognized as a “National Success Story” for her commitment and advocacy efforts.
