As the incumbent candidate running for Florida’s 25th District in the U.S. House of Representatives, Diaz-Balart currently sits on the House Committee on Appropriations which sets the spending expenditures for the U.S. government. He was first elected to congress in 2002 after 14 years in both the Florida Senate and the Florida House of Representatives.
Diaz-Balart is doing all he can to keep America strong, economically and militarily. He also focuses on improving the local infrastructure so that Florida’s 25th District can compete in both the national and international marketplace for good paying jobs. Two prime examples are the widening of I-75 in Collier County and the Miami Harbor Deep Dredge project.
As a native South Floridian, Diaz-Balart understands the unique role the Everglades plays in the local ecology. As co-chairman of the Everglades Caucus he has helped bring together members on both sides of the aisle to help secure billions of dollars for the restoration of the Everglades.
Diaz-Balart was born in Ft. Lauderdale, studied political science at the University of South Florida in Tampa, and resides in Miami.
For Florida’s 25th Congressional District, Community Newspapers recommends Mario Diaz-Balart.
