The Alhambra Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Daniel Andai, opens its 29th performing season with masterpieces from the Classical and Romantic eras. The concert will take place Sunday, Sept. 30, 7:30 p.m., in Florida International University’s Wertheim Auditorium, 10910 SW 17 St.
Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1, which opens the program, is firmly rooted in the Classical period but clearly demonstrates the power of Beethoven’s unique talent. Bizet’s two L’Arlesienne suites, composed 72 years later and still popular with concert audiences over a century after their debut, display the delicate colors and breathtaking energy of Romantic orchestration.
Bring the whole family to enjoy these magnificent pieces. For this event, there is free admission and plenty of parking at reasonable rates. No tickets or reservations needed.
The Alhambra Orchestra is Miami’s community orchestra, with a mission of supporting classical music and music education.
